Compact air handling units with high precision for research facility in London

To meet the high demands for precision and sustainability, we delivered energy-efficient AHUs with integrated reversible heat pumps to the world’s largest commercial human challenge trial unit.

hVIVO | London

In the heart of Canary Wharf, on the 24th and 25th floors of 40 Bank Street, lies hVIVO — the world’s largest commercial human challenge trial unit and full-service Contract Research Organisation. Advanced research in virology and immunology is conducted here, with highly specialised laboratories, isolation rooms, and nurse stations.

The air handling units for hVIVO in London are delivered.

An Envistar Flex air handling unit with the integrated reversible heat pump ThermoCooler HP in one of the plant rooms.

To meet the high demands for energy efficiency, precise temperature control, and space optimisation, three air handling units from the Envistar Flex series with the integrated reversible heat pump ThermoCooler HP were delivered, along with a Flexomix unit with run-around coils. The solution ensures optimal performance in an environment where precision and operational reliability are absolutely critical.

From the outset, the team provided excellent pre-sale and technical support, taking the time to understand the unique challenges of this highly specialised facility. Their advice and technical knowledge were invaluable in selecting the right solutions, giving us confidence that the AHUs would meet the stringent performance and compliance requirements of the project. Throughout the process, their responsiveness and collaborative approach made a real difference, helping us to maintain momentum and deliver a complex installation smoothly. The ThermoCooler HP and Flexomix units have proven to be of outstanding quality — combining energy efficiency, precise environmental control, and a compact design that maximised valuable space within the building. We are delighted with the outcome and look forward to continuing our partnership on future projects.
